Overall impression

The task

We thought the task was interesting and fun. It was also quite complex, which may not be such a good thing, but it was possible to get a submission that performs reasonably well in the time allowed and I suppose there is no harm in allowing the possibility for more complex strategies for teams that are able to pull it off.

The format

We did not like the two weekend format. Not only does it mean that we need to allocate two weekends to the contest, it also means that there is a temptation to spend a lot of time between the two weekends improving our original submission. We would have preferred to spend one long weekend on the contest and then get back to the rest of our lives.
